The short version
- Packwell scans your photo library on your phone. Your library is not uploaded.
- The face print made from your selfie is stored only in your iPhone's keychain and is never uploaded.
- From the scan, only a crop around each piece of clothing, its background removed on your phone, is uploaded, to make clean catalog photos of them. They are named and tagged on your phone.
- We ask before anything is sent to an AI provider, and it is never used for advertising.
- Advertising measurement SDKs track you only if you allow it in Apple's tracking prompt.
- You can delete your whole account and its data in the app: Settings › Delete profile.
- We do not sell your personal data.
1. Who we are
Packwell (the “app”) is an AI travel-packing and outfit assistant. It is made by Origin Five Labs Teknoloji A.Ş., Esentepe Mah. Büyükdere Cad. No:199/6, Levent 199 Binası, Şişli, İstanbul, Türkiye (“Origin Five Labs”, “we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What we collect
Packwell has no sign-up. When you first open it, the app creates an anonymous account for you. We never ask for your name, phone number or address. We collect:
- Clothing images. A crop around each garment the on-device scan finds in your photos (its background removed on your phone) and the garment cut out of it; clothing photos you add by hand or share with the Stylist; and, only if you use try-on and agree to it, the photo of you that you choose for try-on and the pictures made from it.
- Your content. Your wardrobe (pieces, categories, colours, estimated weights), trips (destinations you type, dates, purpose, bag and weight limit), day plans, saved looks, your checklist, your Stylist messages, and messages you send to support or as feedback.
- Optional profile details. Height, weight, shoe size and gender, if you enter them, to estimate clothing weights and suggest outfits that fit. Your units and default suitcase.
- Email address, only if you give one on the in-app support form or email us.
- Identifiers. Your anonymous account id; a random device identifier the app creates and keeps in your iPhone's keychain, used only to enforce free-plan limits (see section 8); your device's identifier for vendors (IDFV); and your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking (see section 7).
- Purchases. Which Packwell Pro plan you have, trial and renewal status, and store transaction ids. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details.
- Usage and diagnostics. How you use features (for example “trip created” or “look saved”), crash reports and performance data, device model, OS and app version, language, and approximate country inferred from your IP address.
Approximate home location (optional). Only if you tap “Use my location” and allow it, the app takes one approximate reading (iOS asks with Precise location off), finds your city on your phone and sends us the city, country, a point rounded to about 1 km and your time zone, to compare your trips with home. You can instead type your city, or skip it. Change or remove it any time in Settings › Privacy & data › Home location. It is never collected in the background, never used for tracking or advertising, and never sent to an AI provider.
We do not collect your precise device location or any location in the background (trip destinations are typed), your contacts, health data, browsing history or payment card details. Your face print is not collected: it stays on your phone.
3. What stays on your phone
Packwell does its most personal work on your device, using Apple's Vision and Core ML frameworks:
- The gallery scan. With your permission, the app reads your photo library on your iPhone to find photos of you, and cuts the clothes you are wearing out of them. Your photos are not uploaded. Only a crop around each garment you wear is, with its background removed on your phone and starting at the garment's top edge, so faces, rooms and other people stay on your phone (see section 5). If you skip the selfie, the scan reads only the photos you pick.
- Your face print. The selfie you take in the app is turned into a numerical face print that is used only to recognise you in your own photos, so Packwell takes your outfits and not your friends'. This is biometric data. You give explicit consent before it is created. It is stored only in your iPhone's keychain and is never uploaded to us or anyone else. The selfie image itself is not kept. Delete the face print any time in Settings › Privacy & data › Delete face data.
- Scan progress and app preferences, including your choices on AI use, are stored on the device.
Photo access is read-only, except when you save a try-on picture to Photos yourself.
4. How we use data, and why
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR / KVKK) |
|---|---|
| Building your wardrobe, planning trips and outfits, packing, the Stylist and try-on | Performance of our contract with you; your explicit consent for sending data to AI providers and for the face print |
| Running, securing and fixing the app, and preventing abuse (including usage limits) | Contract; our legitimate interests |
| Subscriptions and purchase records | Contract; legal obligations (tax and commercial records) |
| Answering support requests | Contract; legitimate interests |
| Product analytics and crash reports | Legitimate interests, or consent where the law requires it |
| Advertising attribution and measurement | Your consent through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; for the anonymous install events described in section 7, our legitimate interests |
| Complying with the law, and establishing or defending legal claims | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined by US state privacy laws, except for the ad measurement you allow in section 7. We do not use your photos or content to train AI models.
5. AI providers
Some features need an AI model that runs on a provider's servers. Before the first time each feature sends personal data, the app asks you and names what is sent. If you choose “Not now”, nothing is sent. You can allow or withdraw this later in Settings › Privacy & data (“AI for the Stylist”, “AI for your closet and trips”); try-on has its own consent step. Data sent to AI providers is used only to produce your result, never for advertising.
| Provider | What is sent | What for |
|---|---|---|
| Google Gemini (Google LLC), directly or through EachLabs (each::labs, Inc.), a gateway that runs AI models for us | Your closet and trip details, Stylist messages and chat photos; for try-on, your try-on photo to check it shows one person with a visible face | Planning outfits and packing, Stylist replies, checking try-on photos |
| OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.), directly or through EachLabs | A crop around each garment, background removed (never your full photos); your try-on photo and the pieces of the chosen look; short item names and descriptions; Stylist messages when OpenAI answers them | Creating clean catalog photos of your clothes and try-on pictures, naming extras, Stylist replies |
| TypeSafe AI (Jev) | Text only: descriptions of your pieces, your trip (destination, dates, weather, bag limit) and the occasion from your Stylist request | Choosing outfits and what to pack or leave out |
Your clothes are named, coloured and tagged on your phone; no AI provider describes them. Your face print and your photo library are never sent to any AI provider. The EachLabs gateway may also use a background-removal service to cut a garment out of a photo, but only when your phone can't and you choose the cloud cut-out for that photo. We require our AI providers to use your data only to provide their service to us, and we use their business offerings under which API data is not used to train their models.
6. Other service providers
These companies process data for us, under contract, only to run Packwell:
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| InstantDB, self-hosted by us | The app database (your account, wardrobe, trips and plans). The InstantDB software runs on infrastructure we operate; InstantDB the company does not receive your data. |
| Bunny.net (BunnyWay d.o.o., Slovenia) | File storage and content delivery for clothing images and try-on pictures |
| RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) | Subscription management and purchase validation |
| Apple | App distribution, in-app purchases and payment |
| Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) | Crash and error reports, performance data |
| Amplitude (Amplitude, Inc.) | Product analytics (feature usage events) |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google LLC) | Delivering push notifications, if you allow them |
| Open-Meteo | Weather forecasts and place search. It receives the place name or coordinates and dates of a trip, never your account id. |
| Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) | Hosting this website |
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case we will tell you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
7. Advertising and tracking
Packwell may use the Adjust, Meta (Facebook SDK) and TikTok SDKs to measure which ad campaigns lead to installs and subscriptions. The app asks for permission with Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and it may ask before ad measurement is switched on, so your choice is already in place when it starts. Until ad measurement is switched on in the app, nothing is sent to these SDKs and your advertising identifier (IDFA) is never read, whatever you answered. When ad measurement is on:
- With your permission only. After onboarding (never on first launch), iOS shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Only if you tap “Allow” do these SDKs read your advertising identifier (IDFA) and link your installs, app opens, subscription purchases and key in-app events to ad campaigns. Declining changes nothing in the app.
- Before or without permission, the SDKs send only anonymous install and app-open events without the IDFA, using Apple's privacy-preserving attribution systems (SKAdNetwork) and Meta's Aggregated Event Measurement, which are designed to measure campaigns without identifying you.
- We never send your photos, Stylist messages, trips or anything you type to an advertising SDK. Only ids, events, prices and plan names.
- You can change your choice any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
8. How long we keep data
- Your account and content (wardrobe, images, trips, looks, Stylist chats, try-on photos) are kept while you have a Packwell profile, and deleted when you delete it (section 9). You can also delete single items, chats and try-on photos at any time.
- Face print and scan data on your phone stay on your phone until you delete them, delete your profile or remove the app.
- Deleted files are removed from storage at once. A copy may stay in the content-delivery cache at its private, unguessable address for a short time until the cache expires.
- Purchase records are kept as long as tax and commercial law requires (up to 10 years under Turkish law). After you delete your profile, billing event records are kept without any personal content.
- Crash reports and analytics are kept for up to 90 days and 12 months respectively.
- Support emails are kept for up to 2 years after the conversation ends.
- Server logs are kept for up to 30 days for security.
- Free-plan usage counter. To enforce free-plan usage limits and prevent abuse, we keep an anonymous counter of how much of the free plan has been used (for example, how many trips or free looks). It is tied only to a one-way hash of the random device identifier described in section 2, contains no personal information or content, and is kept after you delete your profile, so that deleting and re-creating a profile does not restart the free plan.
- Service cost records. We keep internal accounting records of what our AI features cost us to run (for example, which feature was used and its cost, per day). When you delete your profile, these records are de-identified: they no longer contain your account identifier and are kept only as anonymous totals.
9. Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings › Account › Delete profile. After you confirm:
- your profile, wardrobe, clothing images, trips, day plans, suitcases, checklists, saved looks, Stylist chats and try-on photos are permanently deleted from our servers and storage;
- your face print, scan progress and app settings are removed from your phone;
- your anonymous account itself is deleted.
The anonymous free-plan usage counter described in section 8 is not deleted: it holds no personal information and keeps the free plan's limits from restarting.
Repeated deletions. If many profile deletions are requested from the same device in a short time, a new deletion request is completed within 7 days instead of immediately, and the app tells you so. You can keep using the app until then. To prevent abuse of the free plan, we keep a record of such a request (your account identifier, an anonymous device identifier and the dates) until it is completed.
This cannot be undone. Deleting your profile does not cancel a subscription: Apple bills it, so cancel it in iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions. You can also delete just your face data or try-on photos in Settings › Privacy & data, or email us and we will delete your data for you.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR, Türkiye's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and US state laws such as the California CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to:
- know what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- restrict or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing already done);
- not be discriminated against for using these rights;
- complain to a data protection authority, such as the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or the authority in your EU country.
Most of this you can do in the app. For anything else, email support@packwellai.com. Because Packwell accounts are anonymous, we may ask you to send the request from inside the app, or for a detail that shows the account is yours. We reply within 30 days.
11. Children
Packwell is not meant for children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the UK unless a parent or guardian has consented where the law allows. We do not knowingly collect data from children below these ages. If you believe a child has used Packwell, contact us and we will delete the data.
12. International transfers
We are based in Türkiye, and our providers process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where we transfer personal data out of Türkiye, the EEA or the UK, we rely on the safeguards the law provides, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum), standard contracts notified to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority, or your explicit consent where that is the applicable basis.
13. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Each account can read only its own data, and the app can change almost nothing directly: every change goes through our server, which checks who you are. Images are stored at private, unguessable addresses. Your face print is protected by the iOS keychain. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you and the authorities about a breach where the law requires.
14. This website
packwellai.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and standard request data to deliver and protect the site.
15. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when Packwell changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
