# Packwell

> Packwell is an AI packing assistant and outfit planner for iPhone, made by Origin Five Labs. It builds your wardrobe from the photos already on your phone with an on-device scan (only a crop around each garment is uploaded, its background removed), plans an outfit for each day of a trip from the weather forecast, and packs a suitcase that stays under the bag's weight limit. It also has a Stylist chat, virtual try-on, a packing checklist and travel notes. It is is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, is free to start, and offers an optional Packwell Pro subscription.

## What Packwell does, and for whom

- For travellers who want to pack light and stay under an airline's weight limit without planning every outfit by hand.
- For people who want outfit ideas from the clothes they already own, for a trip or for everyday occasions.
- The user gives a destination and dates; Packwell plans what to wear each day from their own closet and packs the bag.

## Key features

- Wardrobe from your photos: after a selfie, the app scans the iPhone photo library on the device, finds photos of the user and cuts out each garment they wear. Users can also pick photos themselves or add pieces by hand.
- Outfits for every day's weather: day-by-day looks planned from the forecast at the destination, including travel days and evenings; any piece can be swapped or a day regenerated.
- A suitcase under the limit: packs the planned looks plus trip essentials, estimates weights, shows a live breakdown (clothes, shoes, toiletries, tech) and trims before the bag goes over its limit.
- Packing checklist and travel notes, such as which plug adapter a destination needs.
- Stylist chat: suggests looks from the user's own closet for an occasion and the local weather; can find the pieces in a photo of an outfit.
- Virtual try-on: shows a chosen look on a photo of the user (uploaded only after explicit consent).

## How it differs

- The wardrobe is built from the user's existing photos by an on-device scan, not by photographing each item.
- Outfits are planned per day from the weather forecast for the trip's dates and place.
- Packing is weight-limit-aware: the suitcase is weighed as it is packed.
- Styling (Stylist chat) and try-on use the user's own clothes.

## Privacy

- The photo-library scan runs on the iPhone (Apple Vision and Core ML). Photos are not uploaded; from the scan, only the garment cut-outs are.
- The face print made from the selfie is stored only in the iOS keychain and never leaves the phone.
- The app asks before sending data to an AI provider (Google Gemini, OpenAI, TypeSafe AI), and that data is never used for advertising.
- Ad-attribution SDKs (Adjust, Meta, TikTok) use the advertising identifier only after the user allows tracking in Apple's prompt.
- Users can delete their account and data in the app: Settings › Account › Delete profile.

- Free to download, with a free tier: the first trip in full and the first day of later trips, and a limited number of closet pieces, new looks and Stylist chats. Free-plan limits apply per device.
- Packwell Pro: optional auto-renewing subscription, billed weekly, monthly or annually, that unlocks every feature, including every day of every trip and virtual try-on, with fair-use daily limits on some AI features. Prices are shown in the app.
